This Polish duo regularly performs with just a beat-boxer and stun audiences with their totally unique approach to music. Yes, they may draw influences from the likes of Bobby McFerrin, Bjork and Massive Attack, but their music is created exclusively from their own voices – voices that are transformed and augmented with a little help from TC-Helicon’s VoiceLive2.

Tom Lang realizes new CD with TC-HeliconAs an employee of TC-Helicon with extensive experience in the development of virtual vocal harmony products, Tom discovered new uses of the products while recording this CD. “Producing the CD gave me new insight into the value of our products” he says, “While I found them invaluable for harmony stacks and pitch correction, I found uses I hadn’t originally thought of that can only be learned from having a large body of work to complete and time pressure in which to do it.”

For example, the title track, Waiting For The Big One contains a mixture of real and virtual harmonies courtesy of VoiceWorks. “The real harmonies on the chorus of this song needed a little extra something but I had too much work to do in completing the other songs. Finally, during mixing, I had VoiceWorks patched in for a previous song and thought I’d give it a shot.” Within five minutes, Tom had the high harmony nailed leaving him time to move on to adding harmonies on various verse lines that had also nagged him. “Adding vocals during mixdown is a big time saver; your only problem is knowing when you’ve added enough!” (more…)
