Thanks for your patience, all of you who are waiting for information on VoiceLive Touch. There was an issue with reliably producing one of the mechanical components that has now been addressed. The good news is that we are starting pre-production now and the finished Touch units (or is that the finishing Touches?) are planned to leave our warehouses bound for your neighborhood dealer in October. In this post we catch up with what’s been happening with this exciting new product.

Octave doubling can be a great way to take a grungy vocal and make it thicker in the mix. Stacking overdubs in unison can help everything blend together. Tom Lang demonstrates the effect on the Fall Out Boy hit, Thnks fr th Mmrs.

Beyoncé’s hit track If I Were A Boy has one of the best examples of tap tempo controlled, long echo or delay. Laura demonstrates how to add a signature effect to ballads by engaging a long echo on a phrase.

It’s very popular for singers to record their harmony voices themselves in the studio. Tom Lang demonstrates how harmony processing is perfect for replicating this sound live using John Mayer’s hit Belief.

Here’s a quick audio demo recorded from a BETA version of VoiceLive 2 firmware 1.2. This video highlights the Rhythmic Sample effect which freezes and loops a section of audio according to your tempo. Also demonstrated is Rhythmic Stutter, which is found in the uMOD block. This effect can produce tremolos but also pattern based gating effects.
