Take a look at the top of the TC blog page for my findings. This is the second time they've sent it to me and now it is in good working order. Granted you don't have Vyzor for this but the new App works great! Everything you need to update firmware, backup or restore settings are all right there in the app. I've tried each tab and every feature of the app and so far everything has worked swimmingly. A few comments earlier, Mike Riffen gave instruction as to how he got his VL1 working again. Thanks Mike...I've been so busy the past two weeks, beta testing ,recording, and performing that I haven't had the chance to try your troubleshooting tips. It's my guitarist's VL1 that's been on the fritz from the git go. Unfortunately it's been sent in for repairs 3 times and each time we get it back nothing seems to have been healed. I tried that and discovered some diagnostics that can be accessed by plugging it in with the song and direct buttons held down and then turning the big round nob. I did the display diagnostics and everything worked until I got to the midi... that failed. Then I tried the system board and nothing. I opened it up, took out the main board, unplugged the ribbon cords, cleaned it out a bit with some radio shack parts cleaner and compressed air then reassemble it and it did do the main board test. It said I reset the sampling parameters... I don't know about that. Anyway, restarted it and it worked fine... go figure. In the forums quite a few people have sent theirs back for repair and the repair slips have more often than not had "replace ribbon cable" on it. So maybe it just needs to be unplugged and plugged back in from time to time. It also occurred to me that I had been transporting mine upside down. I'm going to quit doing that and hope that I can make it until the VL2 is available. Hopefully some of the reliability issues will be addressed.
