Nicely done, and great inspiration for using voice, guitar, and looping. How would one replicate what you’ve done here with a VoiceLive 2? Just add, say, a Boss Loopstation after the VL2 output?
Great piece of gear – look forward to seeing one in person, although I personally am still more of a floor pedal guy. But who knows…
Yes, to use voicelive 2 in a looping setup, you’d need to add a looper product at the output of voicelive 2. That gets you the basic concept. Of course, in VoiceLive Touch it’s integrated and has some extra easy performance looping with VLOOP – and it’s in stereo. But, for getting basic looping with any product, adding the looper after the effect/s is ideal.
Thanks, Joey. One quick question – the unit really seems designed to hang on a mike stand, but needs power from somewhere. Will there be a battery option? It would eliminate the need for a power supply in the middle of the stage.
My pleasure . I’m afraid there’s no battery option with the VoiceLive Touch… All that harmony and display power takes a lot of AC and TC-Helicon also wanted to go as “green” as possible.
I’m so inspired by this piece. Man I can’t wait to incorporate this unit into my line up. Seems like the possibilites are endless. I’ve got 3 other fellas in my band and they all sing well…so, when I originally introduced them to the Voice Live 2 they felt I was taking part of their job away from them…or the fun anyway. I encouraged them that they could take on the multi stack harmonies on the counter melodies…but…with the introduction of the Voice Live 2, I bet I can actually perform counter melodies on top of running my own stacked harmonies = pretty flippin’ kewl my brother!!! It may seem small, but having the processor within arms reach is awesome…
I use my VL2 extensively but always have to look down, to switch patches, cutting of my wind at the same time. This could rememdy a lot of that. Even better, if it gets me close to what I’m using in the VL2, I can see processing my primary backup singer through the VL2 and lean on the the Touch for my primaries. In reading some of the other blogs I can see you’ve already tempted VL2 users into finding ways to inject a looping tool into their arsenal…Something I’ve added to my chain is a stereo tube preamp right off of the main outputs of the VL2…for one it adds some warmth but also gives me the ability to pump the volume a little more if I need it, at the touch of a knob. It’s a great time to be alive. Later Tom! I always enjoy your insightful vids!!!
