After a month’s delay, version 1,2 of VoiceLive 2 is now available. A manual addendum, details on backing up preset & setup data, upgrading the firmware, and restoring preset & setup data can be found at the end of this post.
This version adds many new features, improvements, and fixes:

- set tap tempo by holding the Delay button

Important – Backing Up Presets/Setup
Backup preset and system settings using VoiceSupport. When updating to version 1.2, VoiceLive2 will be reset to a factory default state. This means that all user presets and settings are erased. However, by backing up presets and setup in advance, they can be restored after the update, and restarting VoiceSupport. For instructions on backing up presets and setup see the version 1.2 manual addendum.

Yes I had the same issue after update. However, my set keys stayed intact, but I too had to re-store each preset. Have had no issues since.

I downgraded to 1.1 yesterday. The double/harmony is distorting the signal even if you don’t change the settings after a fresh installation of firmware 1.2. Just as changing would boost what is a latent defect already. I recorded our latest rehersal and took a stereo track of the VoiceLive2 output too. There are quite noticeable cracks in the signal that you don’t have when using version 1.1 (I cross-checked this immediately afterwards). So practically version 1.2 IS NOT USABLE. It’s a pitty, as there are some nice new features in the update… Anyway, 1.1 is still great and RELIABLE. Hope TC Helicon will read all our comments, since the workarounds discussed so far do not work around.

The lead voice latency clearly has been improved, making the harmonies more realistic and responsive to changes in the lead vocal. The only downside of this is, for someone (like me) who is not always pitch perfect, some of the presets are less forgiving with regard to pitch correction. I noticed it for example on preset 14. However, one just needs to be more careful with pitch – not a big issue. All in all I am very impressed with the sound from Ver1.2. My wife, who has to listen to my attempts at making music, noticed the improvement in the sound of the harmonies immediately.

Estou encontrando muita dificuldade na implantação do firmware 1.2 VL.Voice Support agora só dá mensagem not connect. Instalei e desinstalei o Support, mas mesmo assim não consigo conectar.O que fazer? Abraço

The Aux input is useful for sending an MP3 or any other audio source to the VL2 to generate harmonies. With this you can definitely send a mix of your band from the desk to the unit for harmony generation.

Hey there… I’ve got a problem.. My device won’t restart after the update. I’ve waited 20-30 minutes twice now and the buttons just keep on flashing?? I’ve been forced to manually restart it, but then the update isnt installed and it is still a 1.1.00 build68 version.. can anyone help??

Hello Joey I upgraded my vl2 to version 1.2 and I have one question. I like to use the tpain effect presets and when I pick them, why is it when I go to the edit screen, if you scroll all the way down to the bottom, I am not able to manually tell my vl2 what key I’d like to be in. It says n/a all the all the way across now. When I try to select it just wont let me do it. In version 1.0 I had no problem doing this. Please help me. Thank you
How is it going with an editor program for VoiceLive2? It is a major pain to rearrange my presets to accomodate new set lists. It can’t be that hard!

sorry, I have a question and dry would be this: you can use the VL2 and harmonies drive only with the voice, without having to set any scale? because I own the VoiceTone Double and I have always found it very good and I bought the VL2 thinking to improve a lot … but instead I seem to have made a mistake.
